Welcome, Squirrel...

A couple days ago I saw a squirrel in my backyard for the first time in my life. I saw it running on top of the gate and onto the tree. At first glimpse I thought is was a rat. From the corner of my eye I saw a small animal speeding. As I paid more attention I realized it was a squirrel. So I ran into the house to grab my phone and document this history lol. 

I used to see a ton of squirrels when I was in college at UCF.
They were all over the place.
Those squirrels were different.

The squirrels at UCF would walk on the same path as you and would stare directly in your soul if you were in their way. It was almost as if they were daring you to make the first move. I would legit have standoffs with those squirrels. Like "you move first" type of moments lol. So to see a squirrel in my backyard was somewhat nostalgic. I don't know why but seeing this squirrel made me smile. It brought back great memories in a blink of an eye.

I wonder if my new friend will continue to visit...
